Hi everyone, my name is Alannah. I am currently in my fourth and final year of studying Business at SETU. I have recently completed eight months of work experience at Transfermate as a Customer Engagement Intern. Transfermate is a Business to Business payment technology platform, they also operate a platform that allows students to make payments globally.
My role at Transfermate was completed remotely, and as a result of this Information systems played a large part in my role every day. From the very beginning, I communicated entirely with management and my co-workers through Microsoft Teams and Outlook. Other elements of Microsoft Office such as Excel and Word were used whilst working on day-to-day projects in order to share information amongst the team.
The entire workforce completed regular training and development courses through an online learning platform 'WeLearn'. Customer service was a large part of my role. This was also done almost completely using Information systems. All of the client's details and payment information were stored on a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database. This database was used every day for everything from managing payments to resolving client queries.
As Information Systems is used widely at Transfermate the majority of the workforce has the ability to work remotely. This results in lower operational costs for the organisation. All of the Information systems also work alongside one another to create an efficient system with good communication across the company.
Nice introduction!
