E-Commerce and Internet Technologies

 Hi everyone!

This week I have decided to have a look at e-commerce and the platforms that can be used to help businesses engage in e-commerce themselves. There are thousands of online platforms that companies of all sizes use to develop and run their business day to day, chances are you have used many of these platforms before, such as Squarespace, Class pass, and DocuSign to name a few.

Below we will look at some recommendations of platforms for growing businesses such as a gym or fitness centre, a new clothing boutique, and a local café.

The first platform I would recommend to a new gym would be PushPress. PushPress is designed as a gym management software. The platform was voted easiest to implement and best usability so new gyms and fitness centers will have no issue integrating the system into their website. PushPress will help automatically check in clients, manage bookings and payments, store client information, and reduce admin tasks. It is essential for any gym to implement easy-to-use software that their clients can use to manage their membership and bookings.

The next platform I would recommend to a new clothing boutique would be MageStore, an inventory management system that can be used for small or large clothing boutiques to keep track of inventory. They offer a simplified platform that any retailer can use. This platform offers a way to centralize and sync all inventory data, as well as track stock and automate stock orders. Implementing a platform like this could be a game changer for a new clothing boutique as inventory management can be hugely time-consuming.

My final platform recommendation for a local café would be Square Online. This is an online ordering platform that can be used to keep track of all orders, from in-store to online and through mobile and social media. It simplifies the process for the café itself and the customer ordering, it allows for pre-payment and pre-ordering. This platform reduces the workload for the café itself but also simplifies the ordering process for the customer. This would hugely benefit any café as there is a lack of cafes that optimize online ordering and digital platforms.
