Artificial Intelligence is becoming increasingly popular in every industry. In January of 2023, 35% of companies were already using AI, and this number is growing rapidly. So what is AI and how exactly are businesses using it? 

Artificial Intelligence is a simulation of human intelligence, created by machines, it is a combination of computer science and huge data sets that enables problem-solving. Currently, businesses have a variety of uses for AI, which include saving time, increasing efficiency, and reducing costs. The most popular use of AI for businesses is customer service. At some point all of us have probably encountered an automated chatbot customer service advisor, this is a form of AI. These chatbots are not only used to solve customer queries, but they can also detect customer tone and are used as a form of customer feedback. 

The second most popular use of AI for businesses is for cybersecurity and fraud. AI robots can detect abnormal behavior to identify cybersecurity threats. It also helps to spot a threat to security rapidly to prevent a larger-scale cyber attack or fraud. Over 51% of companies surveyed by Forbes said that they use AI for the cyber security of their business.

Content creation is another area that is being hugely assisted by the use of AI. The AI is being used by marketing teams to plan and schedule content automatically, and also analyze and create reports on the performance of content. AI can also be used to write and edit content and is increasingly becoming a huge part of marketing and advertising.

These are just a few ways businesses are utilizing AI to assist them with processes, but there are many other uses for AI in businesses including supply chain operations, inventory management, and recruitment to name a few.
